vector_based graphics- illustrations, work with pixels, show the meaning of something or someone.
specs/specifications of a project- explicit set of requirements
dialog box- interface or computers
palette- wooden board used for mixing colors and painting

guidelines- guidelines, are steps to show you how to do something. For example, instructions, and tracing something.
extensions- An object, to make something longer than it is.
contextual menu- A short cut, or pop-up menus to get you somewhere you need to be.
clipping mask- Another word for cropping. You use a clipping mask, to cut something out, kinda of like cropping something or someone out.

primary colors- red, green, blue
secondary colors- colors given color space. By mixing colors together to get one simple color
tertiary colors- when you mix the main colors with their "children" you get 6 new colors
neutral colors- all dark colors like brown, grey, black.

resolution- is used for the pixel count in digital imaging.
file size- Is actual amount of disk space consumed by the file, or how much information is stored within the file.

Non*Linings- also have text, old style, numbers have a small body size plus ascenders.
Inflating* or Shrinking letters- italic, bold, small caps.
Margins- White space around edges of document, indesign.
Kerning- Adjusting the space in between individual characters.
Tracking- Allows you to adjust space in between, as a whole.
